Benito learned many of his cooking secrets from his grandmother in Italy. "I grew up in my grandmother's kitchen," he said.
Benito grew up in Avellino, Itay, which is located near Naples. He came to the United States 13 years ago and settled in New Jersey, where he started his own restaurant. "I love this country, it's GREAT," he said. "After only 15 months in New Jersey, I was able to buy my own place."
Benito moved to Jacksonville eight years ago and started an Italian restaurant, Matollo's, with a partner in 1990. He sold his half of the restaurant to his partner to open Benito's Pizza in 2001.
Over the years, Benito has owned six restaurants, including La Piramide in Italy, which he still owns with his brother. "I've always worked in a restaurant," he said. " I like food and I love to cook." He also loves to please his cutomers.I got a good business" he said. "I know everybody, all my customers are my friends. I know all their names."

Benito cooks up several pasta dishes with veal, seafood and chicken and
has baked pasta dishes like lasagna, eggplant parmigiana and rigatoni.
His favorite is, of course, Chicken Alla Benito, a tasty mixture of chicken,
broccoli and mushrooms served with spaghetti. Benito's also offers a wide
variety of pizzas cookes in a stoneoven. Choices include stuffed spinach
pizza, Siilian pizza, egplant pizza, pizza Florentina and many more.
